Fair questions
Why do you need my driver's license?+
It's how we know the person collecting a computer is the person who left it — and it's what unlocks your drop-off locker, so you can leave the machine without waiting for anyone. Machines hold your whole life: photos, banking, email. Your license photos are encrypted, only the shop owner can view them (every view is logged), we never sell or share them, and we keep them only while your account is open so you never have to send them twice. Ask and we'll delete them. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
What does the $75 flat rate cover?+
Diagnosis plus repair labor for most common problems: virus cleanup, slow computers, OS reinstalls, hardware swaps, and the like. Parts are extra and always quoted before we install anything. Some specialty work (advanced data recovery, custom builds) is priced separately — the full list is on the pricing page.
What if you can't fix it?+
If we can't fix it, the labor fee is on us. Parts only billed when installed. We'll also give you a straight opinion on whether a replacement makes more sense than a repair.
How long do repairs take?+
Most repairs: 1–3 business days. Parts orders (like a specific laptop screen) add shipping time — we'll tell you the estimate when we check your machine in, and you'll get an email the moment it's ready.
Will I lose my data?+
We treat your data like it's ours. Most repairs don't touch your files at all, and when a job carries any risk (failing drives, OS reinstalls) we back up first whenever the machine allows it. That said, drives do fail — if your data isn't backed up anywhere, tell us at drop-off and we'll talk options.
Do I need an appointment?+
Nope. The online drop-off window just helps us be ready for you — walk-ins are always welcome during shop hours.
Why do I need an account to book a repair?+
The account ties your machine, your repair status, and your ID together — it's how you can watch your repair's progress online and how we guarantee the right machine goes home with the right person.
Do you buy or recycle old computers?+
We'll wipe old drives securely and point you to proper recycling. Ask at the counter.
